Starting to reconsider the direction of thesis. Perhaps it's less about people killing themselves and more about why the characters don't kill themselves. Interesting....

Rough animatics for "The Bros"
Here are 3 very rough animatics for my "Bros" skit. I'm trying to pick the "funniest" one. Gawd only knows why I can't embed the damn things, so here's a temporary fix.

The following are several varied endings for the "Bros" skit. I'm going to do very rough animatics of each and see which one is deemed funniest by the senior class. Oh lala!

Pure, unadulterated shame
After reading only a few of John K's blog posts about cartooning techniques and theories, I feel absolutely, 100%, devastatingly ashamed I ever called myself "an animator."
As penance, I am posting last spring's 3D final for your uncensored ridicule.
That being done, I am back to the vacancy of the ether-webs to scrounge any and all knowledge from much smarter people than I.
AVAST MATEYS!

Here, take this random word and animate it..
An animation of the word "clean" in 5 hours. This is NOT my character, it is a fully rigged and ready character by Jay Gillen.

3D Motion Studies for Charlie
Mmm, tasty TASTY motion studies. Yeaaa, taste their tasty goodness.
These animations are the first I've done on a character that I made, rigged, and skinned (also of a "first time" nature.) And while Steve points out that everyone's first character is... a "struggle" shall we say? I really enjoyed finally getting down to business and makin' some movement go down- OH YEA!
Enjoy my 1st 2 3D animations (so many numbers- dang.)

3D work in progress: Charlie picks up ball
You want some more animations- YOU SHALL RECEIVE NOTHING!!! ... nah, jk-sies (yea, I WENT there.)
This is my 3D character class exercise to learn how to link objects to bipeds- aka: we learned how to make things pick up other things!
NOW WATCH IT!!!

Festival Image promotional animation
This is an animation made for the Festival Image that will be taking place at MICA next week. The festival is a collaboration of both animation and comicbooks as well as being a collaboration between MICA and the French school The Alliance Francaise in Washington, DC and Supinfocom. It went so SO many changes (it started out as a stop-motion style animation with a huge hand... what?)
Hopefully the final product will be shown both at the festival and online as promotion material. Only time can tell... and my teacher, I suppose, will tell me...

Rotoscope
This is my contribution to a collaborative class final project. I came up and wrote the script for a movie we would film in live action, split into shorter sections, and rotoscope.
The basic plot is that Winnie the Pooh Bear is a "Huney" addict, living in the 100 Acre Apartments, trying to get his next fix. He hasn't paid his rent and upsets the local drug lord, Christopher Robin, and after ending up in the hospital from getting some Pixie Stix from his dealer Tigger, Pooh meets his untimely end at the hands of Christopher Robin.
The section I animated is Christopher Robin comforting Pooh's roommate Piglet while Pooh wakes up groggily laying in the hospital.

Typography Motion Graphic
This is the final project I worked on in my graphic design I class. The assignment was to find a quote about graphic design and animate it in After Effects.

An Ode to the Great Alexander (aka- a dog motion study)
We spent a class period sketching people in various poses and when Alex, the dog-model, felt he was ready, we sketch him, too. We were then told to take our rough sketches and make several animations within the remaining hour. This is one of them.
